I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Communications Engineering of the University of Bremen. My current research interests center around statistical signal processing, information theory, machine learning, and optimization with applications to wireless communications and distributed machine learning.In my Ph.D. thesis, I have investigated energy-efficient signal processing techniques in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with two common strategies, i.e., decentralized learning, where the agents operate in a peer-to-peer mode through an undirected graph (consensus/diffusion/gossip strategies), and federated learning, where the agents work in a client-server model. In particular, energy-efficient signal processing techniques enable smart devices to measure their input data with low-resolution analog-to-digital converters to save their power consumption while reducing the estimation bias caused by the quantization noise.
