Master of Science in Law (MSL): Entrepreneurship Lab

In this directorial role, I lead Insight’s team of industrial designers and UXUI designers to create exceptional user experiences across both physical and digital products. I ensure my team works seamlessly with design research, human factors, and engineering to deliver the best, most appropriate, and innovative design solutions. Insight’s design team has earned multiple design awards, reflecting our excellence at transforming complex mechanisms and systems into simple and successful user experiences.

Responsible for providing exceptional user experiences in both physical and digital design, primarily in the medical device sector. I work seamlessly across the research and design departments to conduct ethnographic research and create design solution imbued with qualities informed by insights gathered directly from end users. Per specific project requirements, I act as discipline lead and/or program manager to meet overall program and business goals by mentoring the work of content contributors and ensuring the quality of design efforts.

Industrial Designer | July 2013 - July 2015Responsible for industrial and graphic design with extensive experience in research and strategy as well. Work includes medical products targeting acid reflux, Parkinson’s Disease, rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, reverse shoulder replacement, infusion, and orthodontia, as well as consumer products in the beauty and toy categories.

Designed an all-in-one desktop computer for the medical setting and increased computing functionality to allow the doctor to focus on the patient and eliminate any bias or misinterpretation.

Beyond Design is a strategic design consultancy that combines research, design, engineering, and user experience to create meaningful products and services.Work includes consumer products in interior design, power tool, and automotive spaces.

Designed a new luggage model, increasing access to and organization of contents for a better travel experience.

Responsibilities: Development of the HTML Accessibility Best Practices web site (at http://html.cita.uiuc.edu/), collecting data, creating examples to illustrate accessibility standards, and organizing layout using HTML, CSS, and Dreamweaver software. The web site addresses accessibility and provides rules and standards to promote the practice.
