I provide project management and financial oversight for two of Westat's large surveys. For the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey Household Component I have led several initiatives, including developing a follow-up survey on opioid use, designing a shorter version of the MEPS interview for reluctant respondents, and assessing quality of data collected by telephone during the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside of project work, my focus on business development has included: serving on Westat's equity task force focused on how to increase our focus on equity in our projects and proposals; leading a team to develop training and tools for proposal pricing; managing the large survey practice's pipeline; and serving as proposal manager, writer, and budget lead on several major ($300M+) proposals.

Led the Health area within Abt’s Division of Data Science, Surveys and Enabling Technology, directing business development activities for clients in Federal, state and local government, universities, and foundations. Oversaw project teams to execute survey projects for Federal and local government clients and provided expertise on study design and instrument development, cognitive testing, data collection and management, and data analysis and dissemination to various audiences. Provided financial oversight for the Health area, including labor and revenue forecasting. Served as a quality control advisor and client liaison for statistical issues such as sampling design, weighting, nonresponse bias analysis, mode effects analysis, and small area estimation. Managed all aspects of proposal development, including writing technical approaches and staffing and management sections, pricing and preparing budgets, and leading conversations with prospective clients to identify their needs in developing a final pricing and technical approach. Managed health surveillance surveys for the VA and urban areas, patient surveys for CMS, and survey analysis support for DoD.

Have also work on projects for TRICARE Management Agency, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Census Bureau, and DoL's Office of Disability Employment Policy.I served as project manager and task manager, designed evaluation and survey studies, worked on survey design and testing, participant recruitment for surveys and focus groups, conducted in-depth interviews and moderated focus groups, conducted qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and contributed to numerous proposal efforts in terms of management, writing and costing. While most of my work was disseminated in reports to my clients, I also attended evaluation and public health conferences and publish in the peer-reviewed literature.
