I am a Junior at Indiana University Bloomington’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, majoring in Nonprofit management and leadership. I volunteered for the organization "Gleaners," a non-profit food bank for the homeless in Indianapolis, Indiana when I was younger. I understood the concepts of organizing the foundation into a successful output of products. Being a helping hand within an organization inspired me to enter the business world and build a non-for-profit. While analyzing my family within the corporation, I learned team management by being able to choose and maintain an effective team to perform well in product distribution. I also learned strategic planning by setting a goal and breaking it down into smaller steps to achieve the larger goalCurrently, I am looking for internships for leadership positions, so that I can evaluate the operations behind entrepreneurship and how to become a successful entrepreneur. I am also starting to look at organizations that need volunteers and help for causes such as homelessness and families who need help with their living situations. I plan to use and develop my skills towards my own organizations, especially the non-for-profit. Using my promotion skills, I will promote my business through the media for all audiences to view. I plan to make connections with others who are as passionate as me with the development of the non-for-profit and spread awareness.
