The first to sign-up, the first to ask how I can contribute, the first to get tapped when a new initiative arises and has the potential of moving an organization forward…After years of working at Fortune 500 companies on a broad range of strategic initiatives, I grew tired of maintaining the responsibilities of a “day job” in addition to pursuing a new corporate initiative. I often wondered, “If this initiative is so important to executive leadership, why is my manager so focused on the little things, or, at a minimum, why aren’t they willing to deprioritize some of my responsibilities?” It felt that volunteering for such projects (and I was always the first to volunteer) was my Achilles heel since my workload would double or triple. By taking a risk, going outside my comfort zone, making order out of chaos, and charting (and sometimes re-charting) a course forward, I was adding value that couldn’t be measured against my goals set the previous year. After putting in the extra hour’s year after year and achieving great things with my team and for my organization, I had enough and decided I wanted to focus 100% on the unplanned (or poorly planned) stuff that moved an organization forward by leaps and bounds instead of by bullets and measures.This is how ThinkFURST was born. I am a special projects junkie. My passion is the uncharted course – being given a mission and assembling a team of experts along the way to dive into the unknown, not being afraid of the details, and figuring it all out together.
