About Alisha Cavin

I am a recent college graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I received my Bachelor's Degree on June 12th, 2011 in Sociology with a minor in Education and Applied Psychology. My career objective is to be a Marriage and Family Therapist in Modesto, CA.Through my experiences in college, I have discovered my true passion for becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have assisted and supported many friends, colleagues and residents through difficult personal issues. Through those difficulties, I have discovered my desire to help others through their difficult times to become stronger and reach their full potential. In my position as a Resident Assistant, I not only supported the residents on my floor and in my building to grow and learn, but I also assisted my colleagues in developing themselves through learning from all their mistakes and successes. I mediated many staff conflict issues, assisted others through difficult expectations and facilitated discussions concerning diversity and personal development issues.Specialties: Listening, Mediating, Expressing Understanding, Facilitating Discussions, Organizing and Executing Events, Conducting Meetings
