At Beloved Community, I am a consultant and project manager responsible for managing multi-organizational, multi-year cohorts of school and district leaders with the goal of deepening DEI skills and competencies for leaders while they work to change organizational practices. I work with leaders across sectors to build out strategic equity plans that focus on translating DEI commitments to concrete, manageable action steps. I skillfully create concise roadmaps for projects with action steps that are easy to delegate to appropriate team members. I also excel at creating and customizing professional development materials and resources; for example, I’ve created materials including a soon-to-be published adult agency cycle, equity in talent inventory, antiracist hiring toolkit, and racial equity toolkits.

During my time at MNPS, I was able to hone my facilitation skills. I created a five-part DEI training series and facilitated the curriculum for 1,000 teachers, leaders, and staff members at 25 schools and 7 departments. With a $12,000 grant, I organized, planned, and executed the inaugural MNPS Equity & Diversity Summit, a full-day districtwide professional development experience hosting approximately 500 educators. I also worked to redesigned the New Teacher Academy curriculum focused on increasing engagement and retention, and led a comprehensive redesign of the district’s annual Culture and Climate Survey instrument. I then had the opportunity to coach 60 student leaders to analyze, interpret, and provide recommendations on that survey data and present their findings to school and district leadership.
