I was responsible for helping manage the C$3 million charitable contributions portfolio for Gilead’s medical affairs department and assisting with funding a variety of innovative and high-impact projects in multiple therapeutic areas. Additionally, I led the development of a standard operating procedure to streamline the review process for charitable contributions and assembled documentation in preparation for the 2021 internal audit for the medical affairs department, which included any charitable contributions, sponsorships, and payments to healthcare practitioners. Furthermore, I managed the budget for the medical affairs department with a focus on expense management.

I served as the primary point of contact for patients and their prescribing physician. I conducted welcome calls to introduce patients to the pharmacy, informed them of available services, and obtained patient consent as required. Additionally, I worked collaboratively with other Patient Care Specialists and Case Managers to address patient concerns and needs, including the escalation of any issues interrupting the patient journey.
