Young humanitarian and modern dentist. Born and raised in Fredericton, NB, Canada with roots in Toronto, ON, Canada. Graduate of Queen's University (Kingston, Canada)- Bachelor of Sciences (Life Sciences). Graduated from dentistry at James Cook University in Cairns, QLD, Australia. ON DENTISTRY:As a dentist, my focus is to collaborate with other dentists/ specialists and to further my clinical learning experiences. Dentistry combines my passion for the sciences and arts, while providing me the privilege to improve the quality of life for those under my professional care. ON ADVOCACY:After experiencing cyber bullying first-hand, it has been my goal to address violence/ abuse with attainable solutions through presenting my personal story and suggestions to eliminate bullying within schools. My experience with anti-bullying advocacy includes working with the NB Ministerial Committee in hopes of creating stronger legislation regarding bullying prevention strategies. My presentations have lead to a strong influence on the new revised legislation, as I was successful in making many key amendments to the NB Education Act. After the legislation was passed, I travelled to Parliament Hill in Ottawa to serve as a Witness for the Senate Committee hearing to present similar ideas for the Ontario Legislation surrounding anti-bullying. I have served as an anti-bullying advocate by speaking at numerous prestigious international/ national engagements ranging from the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights, NB Ministerial Advisory Committee Meeting, NB Human Rights Commission Meeting, Intl Summer Course on the Rights of the Child, Canadian National Human Rights Conference and many more.I am the 2013 NB Young Humanitarian of the Year and the recipient of the Canadian Red Cross's Partners in Humanity Honourable Citation Award for my efforts to end interpersonal violence.
