As the senior company accountant for both businesses, I had sole responsibility for the full accounting function including processing of high volume daily invoicing, debtor and creditor payments, debt management, weekly reporting to the directors, general ledger management, monthly, quarterly and annual account preparation, liaising with the external tax agent as and when required, payroll processing, calculation of taxes for bonus and commission payments as well as employment termination payments, cash flow management and forecasts, preparation and lodgment of monthly and quarterly BAS's, superannuation payments, payroll tax calculations, preparation of the annual FBT return, completion of annual insurance renewal forms, ASIC compliance, calculation of various leave entitlements, preparation of contracts for new staff and advising on HR matters.

As a registered BAS agent, I represented a client who was a director of a share trading company in North Sydney. My duties included preparation and lodgement of Business and Instalment Activity Statements, entering all transactions into the company's MYOB file and liaising with the company's tax agent for the completion of the company's taxation returns.

My partner at my previous firm started this company with just myself as his employee. I assisted in every step of setting up this business from importing clients data into the new computer system, setting up the administrative side of the business, completing all the work (Financial statement preparation, Income Tax Returns for a wide variety of clients, Business and Installment Activity Statements, ASIC Compliance, Property Audits, AFSL audits, Superannuation audits), as well as assisting with the hiring and training of new staff. I left this role to go on maternity leave in December 2007 and continued to work remotely for a period of time afterwards, namely working on superannuation clients and training staff on the use of the MYOB Superannuation software.

During my year at this firm I managed the workload of my Business Services's partners work (including Income Tax Returns, Financial Statements, Business and Installment Activity Statements) as well as assisting the audit team with company audits, and preparing the Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for all of the superannuation funds in the firm's Sydney office.

During my time at Gould Ralph I worked on a company on a wide variety of clients including individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and superannuation funds. My role included preparation of Income Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements, Financial Statements, auditing and bookkeeping.

I worked as a Cadet while completing my Bachelor's degree at UTS. My responsibilities included preparation of Income Tax Returns, assisting with accounts preparation for business services clients as well as preparation of BAS's. Other responsibilities included coding and posting income and expenses for commercial properties owned by a major client, as well as assisting with the preparation of property audits for these commercial properties.
