Accomplishments Led organization out of deficit. Set the stage for payment reform with investments in technology, training and development of strategies to deliver meaningful, actionable and structured data.  Introduced the concept of “quality is the new currency” and led onboarding of primary care transformation in delivery systems, working at peak of licenses within care teams and strategic implementation of the Quadruple Aim.  Grew new community collaborations that created powerful new programs to enhance access and quality of treatment options for Vermonters. Example: Worked with the City of Burlington Mayor and Police Chief and community stakeholders to establish CHCB as a leader in the treatment of opiate addiction, more than doubling the number o served Established a winter warming shelter for chronically homeless city residents to enhance access to treatment and enabling services.  Enhanced collaborative partnerships with programs such as launching our region’s first medical respite program which successfully transitioned chronically homeless patients out of high-cost hospital settings into community-based supportive housing. Led CHCB’s entry into the OneCare ACO, ensuring CHCB alignment with statewide payment and health reform activities. Led CHCB investments in expansion of access to behavioral health, including the establishment of a psychiatric walk-in track for patients in crisis, a child psychiatry consulting clinic working in collaboration with local pediatricians. Expanded case management and care coordination efforts for refugees, children at risk in the dental program, and pregnant women facing psychosocial barriers to a healthy baby and thriving families.  Raised the public profile of CHCB with skilled advocacy to key legislators and community stakeholder Member of Bi-State Primary Care Association and highly visible and respected member of the Vermont FQHC movement. OperationsExperienced leader in the provision of services/ operations for Chittenden County’s largest safety net public health system. Led patient services, including reception, navigation/eligibility and Limited English Proficiency functions. Director responsible for creating one of Vermont’s most successful enrollment sites for the exchange. One of only two state funded organizations for navigation services in 2015-16 for the entire Chittenden County region. Deep understanding and respect for the role an FQHC has in the community to provide access. Known barrier breaker in the areas of cultural competency and serving low literacy, LGBTQ and other vulnerable populations. Director of Patient Services supervising patient representative staff. Successfully implemented projects improving patient flow, wait times and patient communications, and reduced the barrier of department silos by leading the successful merger of the department with telephone and scheduling functions. Hands on experience managing patient complaints and staff and patient safety issues in a very busy, challenging health and human service environment. Founding Member and Key Leader in the Patient Relations committee, reviewing complaints and setting policy and disciplinary actions, including patient discharge in new era of compliance and risk management. Strategic Planning/Needs Assessment Experienced in strategic planning processes designed to meet community health needs and position an FQHC for fiscal security and highest quality patient care. Developed and responsible for patient satisfaction/needs assessment materials, consisting of required surveys and written literature for accurate needs assessment. Conducted staff focus groups, supervised patient focus groups, including those for Limited English Proficiency patients. Excellent understanding of approaches necessary to survey medically underserved populations. Established a Patient Forum process, personally continued as CEO that directly engaged patients in the waiting room to discuss their experiences.Resource Developer/ StrategistOriginal founder of the development office at CHCB. Responsible for donor relations, messaging and communications, annual campaigns and direct mail appeals.Led and directed successful capital campaigns. he most recent community campaign supported our new anchor facility on Riverside Avenue. Under my leadership, CHCB received its largest philanthropic gift in our history—one million dollars—and established CHCB’s first endowment targeting loan repayment supports for clinicians.Knowledge and skill in federal grant reporting and ensuring adherence to complex federal regulations for community health centers. Experienced leader of program development teams for the development of high quality, innovative program proposals and evaluation.
