I am a hardworking, passionate, and driven 12th-grade student at Broughton High School. I am an International Baccalaureate Candidate who maintains a 4.5+ weighted GPA. In the classroom, I am a curious, open-minded learner and enjoy research projects, writing, and verbal presentations. Outside of the classroom, I take on leadership activities through student government, service clubs, and the creation of a new program to aid Broughton's special education students in building friendships and having a memorable high school experience. I have a passion for serving the community and nonprofit work. Through involvement on the Teen Board at Note in the Pocket, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, and actively seeking new volunteer experiences, I strive to complete over 100 hours of community service each year. I am a former competitive gymnast and reached Level 9 before incurring a gymnastics-ending hip injury. I am now a gymnastics coach and special activities employee at eNeRGy Kidz Gymnastics, where I was a gymnast, helping young kids experience the joy and the lessons of sports. I am in the college application process and intend to major in public policy and either pursue a law degree or a master's program in policy in preparation to be a lobbyist or lawyer representing nonprofit organizations and/or causes that are important to me, including education, public health, and human rights. I completed a summer internship with the Government Relations Team at Manning, Fulton & Skinner, P.A. in the summer of 2024 to learn about and practice lobbying in North Carolina. I am constantly seeking new opportunities to learn, grow, and use my skills to benefit my community.
