Responsible for the end to end management of Insurance and Claims. This incorporated product, strategy, managing the relationship with the insurer, preparation and presentation of papers to the Benefits Committee (sub committee of the Board) and day to day operations of claims and underwriting administration. During my time at Vision Super, as a team we implemented Tele-Claims, Digital Claims and implemented a delegation authority for certain death claims. In addition, multiple manual processes were automated and we created a management dashboard for internal and Board reporting in collaboration with the Business Intelligence team.

I am a part of the busy Operations team at UniSuper. I ensure our team of 80+ are aware and ready for any changes that impact our teams. I do this by utilising my past experience as a Senior Manager and ensure our teams have the tools they need from communication to training. I am passionate about bringing team members on the journey for sustainable change. We have a large portfolio of projects and BAU initiatives on the go at any one time.

I returned to the Insurance and Claims team after completing transformation work and the implementation of new workflows. This time as a Team Leader. Moving back into the team I worked with the Senior Manager to restructure the area. We created a Claims Assist team to help claimants up the point of assessment, an Assessments team for Disablement, TPD, TI and Income Protection claims and a separate team for Death, Terminal Illness claims and Insurance applications.

I worked with Team Leaders and Managers within the Insurance & Claims team to design and implement workflows for both the Insurance & Claims functions. the workflows included an interface to our external insurer to send and receive member documentation and also receive follow ups and both underwriting and claim decisions electronically. A large piece of work I am proud of!

I started UniSuper as the Complaints Manager and then incorporated the Insurance & Claims team about 12 months later. This was a good fit for me as all of my past roles have incorporated the Management of insurance and claims process. The Claims team became a large focus of my role. As UniSuper is both a DB fund and accumulation superannuation fund we have a mixture of self insured and group insurance claims. I was responsible for the end to end management of the claims lifecycle for Death, IP and Disablement claims along with the Complaints function for the fund. During my time as the Claims Manager we changed insurers and started an in house assessment team for the self insured claims, previously managed by an external consultant and set up formal management committees for the review of all claims and disputes.

I was responsible for all administration facets of the business for Maritime Super after the merger between SERF (Stevedoring Employees Retirement Fund) and SRF (Seafarers Retirement Fund). This was a hybrid fund with DB and Accumulation accounts. I was responsible for Insurance and Claims and the Monthly Insurance Committee. We had both self insured and group claims. During my time we transferred our self insurance arrangements to our external insurer and completely changed our default insurance offering. We also implemented an inhouse designed and developed workflow and scanning system.

AAS is a provider of adminstration and customer service solutions, mostly for industry superannuation funds. I was responsible for large teams performing high volume processes. I was also involved in restructuring teams and combining processes. Projects involving new technology and processes.

Initially starting as a supervisor within the annuities and pension business. As I developed more experience so did my role, with my final role being Manager, Administration Services reporting to the General Manager. Some of my highlights whilst working at Challenger were implimenting a new administration and imaging platform. Moving the annuity and pension business from Melbourne to Sydney and re-locating for a period myself.
