About Ali Drew-Forster

Hi there, I’m Ali and I’m an unabashed and unapologetic workplace culture nerd.My professional journey started in the more traditionally reactive side of culture, where I practised as a Workplace Relations / Employee Relations solicitor and HR Manager and Consultant. In other words, I spent over two decades dealing with the fallout of toxic cultures, when the proverbial hit the fan. Unfair dismissals, discrimination claims, bullying investigations and the like were my daily bread. These unique insights from the “dark side” made me curious as to what makes culture work well? In time, I've come to recognise patterns in toxic workplace cultures, and recognised that healthy and thriving workplaces adopted the opposite approach. These days, I prefer to play in the proactive side of culture helping co-create exceptional workplace culture. Emphasis on the co-create; after all, it is your business. I can’t wave a magic wand and single handily turn your culture around. Nope. No can do. Culture starts from the top and all that…Often clients come to me because the shiz has hit the fan in some way or another, and they want to understand and deal with the the broader problem, not just treat the symptom.Which is why a large part of my work with clients is conducting cultural health checks to help you understand where your organisation is at NOW so we can then develop a plan to get to where you NEED to be. It is important to understand where cultures fall down to then be able to help clients thrive and move towards exceptional. As well as identifying the problems, I will always help identify solutions as well. This may look like working with your leaders through coaching, 360 feedback reports or facilitated workshops for leaders and/or their teams.Occasionally yes, I still dip my toes into the dark side and conduct investigations, provide performance management guidance, facilitate mediations and the like. Stakeholder engagement is another Workology Co specialisation, in part because I wholeheartedly and passionately believe the best answers and solutions are found in listening to your employees. This is where we unearth new approaches to bring out the best in people and their workplace. If you would like to chat about how I and my team can help you build your own version of exceptional, then shoot me an email via alison@workologyco.com.au or ring me on 0400 019 599.
