I graduated from Union College with a Bachelor's degree, majoring in English Literature and minoring in History. Subsequently, I earned a Master's Degree from NYU, focusing on secondary education. I spent one year working as a Teaching Fellow and Assistant Teacher at Great Oaks Charter School of Newark, New Jersey. Then, I transitioned to Success Academy Charter Schools in Harlem. At Success Academy Harlem East, I started as a fifth-grade English and History Assistant teacher in 2015-2016; in December 2015, I was promoted to fifth-grade English Lead Teacher.Since then, I have continued to act as a fifth-grade English Lead Teacher. Additionally, during the 2017-2018 academic year, I served as the fifth-grade Grade Team Lead. This role required that I oversaw and organized the logistics of the twelve fifth-grade teachers of Harlem East. I led weekly grade-team meetings, ensuring that all teachers collaborated and implemented consistent routines and expectations. Furthermore, I acted as the liaison between our Assistant Principal and the rest of the fifth-grade team. During the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022 school years, I worked as a Content Lead Teacher. As a Content Lead Teacher, I was responsible for assisting in the development of the curriculum, hosting planning meeting video calls, assisting in the training of new teachers, creating teacher-friendly tools to support data study and curriculum implementation, filming my lessons for observation and research, and developing training modules. I've worked at Success Academy for seven years and am excited to enter my eighth year in a new role. In the 2022-2023 school year, I will serve as the Assistant Principal of Success Academy Harlem East Middle School.
