Area Manager for Arklow and Bray centres, as well as the Access course and Learn for Life Academy in Stillorgan

I act as an internal verifier, and monitor evaluation procedures as part of the QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) assessment process, to ensure compliance with Education Training Boards (ETB) mandated assessments. In this work I check that correct assessment procedures have been applied to all assessment activities from planning to finalising results, including checking and monitoring the accuracy of assessment results, to ensure learner evidence exists and that results and grades are correctly computed and recorded. As part of this process, I also give feedback to instructors on the work they have submitted for internal verification, highlighting any corrections that need to be made to the work, before it is viewed by the external authenticator. I liaise between staff, external authenticators, and the Programme Development Office. I also provide support and training to staff on an informal day-to-day basis.

I am the main instructor running a QQI Level 5 course that covers the Computer Aided Design major award. I provide tailored, student-centred training to adults with disabilities and additional support needs. I have a proven track record of managing the progress of each student from initial assessment and course sampling, through their course work, goal setting and objectives, to their progression options after course exit. All while maintaining their mental health and well-being with continuous intake of students. I recently developed and initiated a new QQI level 4 "Pathway to Apprenticeship" course in the college, which prepares students for moving onto craft apprenticeships. The course aims to meet the changing abilities of students by being less practical and more academic. As the course coordinator; I am in charge of the planning, development and delivery of the course; liaising with other instructors to maintain quality and consistency of their module delivery and instruction.

I was responsible for supporting the students and the instructor on a QQI Level 5 course in Computer Aided Design with their course work, and any questions or problems they had using the AutoCAD programme.I work with the students on either a one-to-one basis, or in small groups, encouraging, motivating and helping them to complete their work. Through my own experience with life-changing injuries, this gave me a unique understanding of the students which I believe allowed me to better relate to them. I also assisted the instructor in the development of course materials and modules, carrying out administrative tasks, and the marking and correcting of work. I maintained the network of computers, printers and software, and developed a register of possible work experience contacts, as well and investigating outings to relevant exhibitions and architectural places of interest, and accompanying students on them.

I led a team of CAD (Computer Aided Design) technicians and junior architectural technologists in the preparation of drawings for various conservation projects.I worked closely with architects and other building professionals, such as 3D designers and engineers on the technical aspects of projects. I was responsible for managing my team through the preparation of production information such as working drawings, schedules and specifications. I also worked on site surveys and administrative procedures to do with planning applications, material selection and building contracts. As well as being responsible for ensuring completion of this work, I also mentoring my team and encouraging their individual professional development.

I was responsible for the completion of detailed designs and supporting documentation for various process and food engineering projects. My role involved meeting with clients and other professionals in the initial stages of the project to agree on the project brief, which included the preparation and presentation of design proposals, as well as evaluating and advising on environmental, legal and regulatory issues. I was the sole architectural technologist in charge of the production of drawings through the planning, fire certificate, tender and construction stages. I consulted with other professionals including quantity surveyors, architects and processing engineers, on the selection of suitable materials and processes, which would be used as part of the tendering process. I was also involved in the production of detailed specifications.
