Profile bio

About Alison Griffith

I’m an experienced practitioner and advisor on inclusive and sustainable systems, particularly for rural economies. I led a successful international team that developed a ground-breaking approach to Participatory Market System Development (pmsdroadmap.org.uk) – where local system actors (private and public) drive change. I have extensive experience of partnerships and consortia working. At Practical Action I was responsible for developing our strategies for working with large-scale companies. I have taken a leading role in an NGO consortium that developed an impact investment initiative and produced learning on what it takes to connect enterprises to investment to stimulate rural economies and achieve social impacts.I am a confident ‘influencer’, working effectively to change ‘hearts and minds’ on issues relating to markets and poverty. For example chairing the NGO group that worked with DFID on inclusive economies. A priority throughout my work has been to deliver better global knowledge and learning on inclusive systems. I served for 6 years on the board of the SEEP, the leading global network on inclusive markets and financial systems. My past background includes working with the private sector in agricultural insurance, livestock services, fair trade and consultancy.

Listed skills include International Development, Market Systems Development, Value Chain Analysis, Agriculture, and 23 others.
