Acts as consultant to local Optum Care Delivery Organizations to make medical management processes more effective and efficient. Accountable for the development and/or ongoing management and administration of clinical value programs. Provides support and measurement standards for a clinical model that incorporates best practices with proven outcomes. Works in a highly matrixed organization focused on implementing value-based solutions in a diverse population of care providers.

Manages the daily operations of the Pre-Service coordinator team to maintain excellent performance delivery. Works with internal and external partners, leadership, and Central Operations Teams to execute processes and procedures with the goal of providing a positive patient and provider experience.

Partners with Medicare Advantage Plans and hospitals in an effort to provide value-based care, thereby assuring patients receive the right amount of care for the right amount of time in the right setting. Responsible for reviewing pre-authorization requests for skilled nursing and rehabilitative services and determining if requests meet medical necessity for the requested level of care. Provides a smooth transition for patients from acute care or community to appropriate post-acute facilities.

Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of critically ill patients in an Intensive Care setting in order to improve musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary strength, thereby enhancing functional outcomes. Utilizes evidence-based practice to develop and maintain an interdisciplinary early mobility protocol in the ICU setting. Promotes teamwork and interdisciplinary growth by educating staff in a system-wide ICU Academy Program and initiating a system-wide ICU competency.

Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of acute care patients in order to develop appropriate discharge plans. Patient caseload consists of over 50% critically ill patients in the setting of transplant, trauma, neurological and cardiac disorders. Manages a team of physical therapists and delegates tasks appropriately to maintain efficiency and quality in patient care
