On joining Dawn Ltd in 2004 there was no Marketing Division or function within the business. Over the next 2 years I built the service offering to in group companies to a point whereby Dawn Management recognized its value and my contribution to it. The decision was made to register it as a stand-alone business, in which I was made a Director with a 20% shareholding. The remaining 80% was held by Dawn Ltd. DMD Marketing continued to grow as a profitable concern, achieving its budgets of on average R60 million in turnover per annum. In March 2016, with the change in accounting / auditing rules, the decision was taken to convert my 20% shareholding to Dawn shares with immediate vesting.
