Leading a team within Philanthropy & Partnerships delivering high-value events, communications & stewardship to deepen relationships with CRUK's major donors & partners.My team's vision was to create a world-class supporter experience to attract donations & drive long-term loyalty to the charity.

Leading a team whose purpose was to use CRUK's world-class science to inspire fundraising.Working in partnership with fundraisers, we developed new science-based propositions to engage with audiences from the lay public through to corporates and multi-million pound major donors.A key achievement was developing the case for support behind charity's largest ever fundraising campaign, Create The Change, which raised £100m towards building The Francis Crick Institute.

Responsiblities: identifying compelling new science stories and engaging fundraising staff and marketing agencies; driving content development for new marketing packs and telemarketing scripts; writing for the web including blogs; giving inspiring talks about the charity's work to staff and supporters; answering supporter enquiries.As a trained media spokesperson, I also wrote press comments and gave broadcast interviews about cancer-related stories in the news.

As well as carrying out research into the genetics of a childhood obesity syndrome, my responsibilities also included daily supervision of a team of five researchers.
