I accept briefs to appear in, and advise on, all matters of Family Law including appeals and complex property and parenting disputes. I have a particular interest in equitable interests, family and farming businesses and complex property settlement cases involving trusts and equity. I accept briefs to appear, advise and mediate on complex parenting matters including Hague Convention matters.I appear regularly in the FCFCOA and State Civil Courts and enjoy briefs in a diverse range of federal law, common law and Tribunal matters in Victoria and South Australia. I am a NMAS Accredited Mediator and a Family Law Arbitrator (Regulation 67B). I am frequently briefed for advocacy and as the mediator in all types of mediations. I also act as arbitrator for family law property matters. I am on the JusticeNet and Supreme Court pro bono panels.I read with Maurine Pyke QC and John White in 2020.Prior to joining the Bar, I established the national alternative dispute resolution company, SHAW Dispute Resolution. In 2009, I was a founding partner of BBS Lawyers, Adelaide.In my spare time, I am walking the Heysen Trail #dirtundertheirboots, volunteer at the Art Gallery of SA and play Bridge.I am a member of VicBar, SABar, Resolution Institute and AIFLAMs, and ADR Committee of Law Society of SA.
