- Predicted the performance of multi-million dollar casualty insurance risk portfolios using Bayesian models and helped develop Python libraries to automate modeling and risk report generation- Tested whether industry rate changes, trend data, and different model parameterizations improved Bayesian model predictions of loss ratios depending on the line of business

- Co-authored 17 publications (lead of 6) focused on how climate change and land-use change affect bird communities, for which I independently designed and executed projects in remote South American rainforests (Google Scholar: https://tinyurl.com/ScholarAKe)- Leveraged a database of >150,000 bird nesting attempts across the US and used generalized linear mixed-effects models to find that nests were 50% more likely to fail when temperatures spike in agriculture than in forest, and that by 2100, avian fitness will decrease in agriculture by 5% under emission trajectories, published in Science (http://tinyurl.com/ScienceNest)- Developed a Bayesian model to estimate the probability of a given animal’s behavior occurring, validated the model’s ability through simulation, and applied the model to >14,000 behavioral observations across 55 bird species in Northwestern Costa Rica to find that birds were 1.3 times more likely to perform reproductive behaviors in forest than in agriculture- Awarded ~$200,000 in fellowships, grants, and awards, notably:• National Science Foundation Graduate ResearchFellowship ($138,000)• Pielou Award (Best contribution to statistical ecology atEcological Society of America conference)- Taught ~300 students in courses that include R programming and Bayesian modelling, and mentored ~20 students in ecological research methods such as bird banding and spatial analyses

- Selected among the top 5% to participate in a data science fellowship with qualified women professionals and leaders in data analysis, product management, business intelligence, marketing, people analytics, sales engineering, trading, and other data-related technical fields. - Learned data science through real-world business cases and worked in a team on a project assessing the role of farmer’s markets in food access in the United States, identifying counties with the highest probabilities of having a market with gradient boosting.

- Helped sort >250,000 camera trap photos of wildlife in Sumatra, Mozambique, and the United States and co-authored five publications (lead of 2)- Wrote a manuscript determining the conservation status and distribution of the bearded pig. Co-authored a book chapter and travelled to Southeast Asia to present results- Selected for the NSF IRES program at the University of Florida where I went to Eswatini to independently research how landscape heterogeneity affects bird diversity (published in Diversity and Distributions)

- Trained for effective mathematics instruction of collegiate mathematics and statistics courses in both tutoring and classroom settings, and served as a drop-in tutor for calculus and probability theory

- Taught "Sustainable Energy for a Greener Tomorrow" class at UC Berkeley- Managed 4 interns, planned energy-saving competitions, and worked on energy-efficiency events and campaigns- managed an annual implementation budget and additional grant money
