Mildura Strings emerged in 2008 from a need for a central point for strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass) in the Mildura region.Mildura Strings offers lessons, an array of string ensemble and chamber music opportunities, and we are available for gigs. Mildura Strings includes our flagship youth performance group FLING, a younger groups Flinglettes, a quintet TAKE FIVE, a large ensemble Sunraysia Strings, and the Mallee String Quartet. I am excited to have recently taken on the role of Agrochemicals Manager with Citrus Australia, as part of a 3-year project funded by Hort Innovation. Still consulting into general viticulture and horticulture, but this Citrus project will certainly keep me busy for a while.

SunRISE Mapping and Research provides mapping, spatial information, research, remote sensing and agronomy services. Alison compliments the SunRISE portfolio with 25 years experience in plant research, plant breeders rights (as a QP with the PBRO), agronomy, providing expert reports (eg crop loss assessment & advocacy), training & facilitation, and contract research.SunRISE Mapping and Research is part of a new Education, Training and Research unit under Mallee Family Care. In addition to the mapping and spatial data management that SunRISE 21 has provided since 1995, SunRISE Mapping and Research now also provides GIS services to community and health sectors while continuing our strong involvement in the mapping and analysis of horticultural assets.SunRISE Mapping and Research has developed a unique series of data sets for the Sunraysia region comprising orthophoto imagery (digital, scale accurate aerial photography), digital elevation modelling, contouring and detailed mapping of irrigated horticulture. These are fundamental in supporting the coordination of spatial information development within Sunraysia and in providing a foundation to integrate other data sets for social, economic and environmental assessment and monitoring.

SunRISE 21 Inc was a not for profit organisation established in 1995 with spatial information expertise and capacity to provide powerful communication, management and planning tools to individual property owners, industry organisations, businesses and government agencies.Remote sensing capability, and agronomic technical services were added to the SunRISE 21 portfolio during 2012. Alison undertook contract research, plant breeders rights work, provided expert reports, advocacy and other consultancy to horticultural clients.

During 18 years as Research Scientist with the Department of Primary Industries at Irymple, NW Victoria, Alison work on projects related to plant protection in citrus and viticulture, spray drift and other off-target movement of chemicals, and spray application research and development. Alison was involved in the development of training workshops and development of on-line training, and co-author of the popular Field Guide for Diseases, Pests and Disorders of Grapevines for Australia and New Zealand (Winetitles).Between 1989 and 1991 Alison was the DPI Chemical Standards Officer for NW Victoria.
