Working in the commercial division, I have had the opportunity to compile and organize submittals to be approved by city officials. I am also helping with project schedules, RFP qualifications, and assisting Project Managers.

At Stan Clauson Associates, I experienced the designing and rendering of planting plans, created construction documents, and worked on difficult grading designs for both public and private clients. Additionally, I was able to utilize my business skills by learning more about the internal day-to-day operations of the organization.

This position required me to perform extensive research on commercial properties and their locations. This included industry evaluations, demographics, housing trends and consumer spending patterns. The research conducted was included in each appraisal report and was used to help the appraiser draw value conclusions about particular commercial properties.

It was my responsibility to keep track and manage the delivery of draft and completed appraisal reports to our clients. I recorded the status of each document through a company-wide database. My position required me to communicate with the appraisers for each report to ensure that the appropriate documents were delivered accordingly.

In this position I learned the importance of team work and communication along with improving my customer relation and personable skills.I have "evaluation cards" written by some of our guests available upon request.

This semester-long internship at Rome Snowboards in Waterbury, Vermont was a great experience in learning marketing skills as well as how to properly run a small business. In this position, I was required to e-mail and preform cold calls to snow resorts, mountains, and sport clubs to offer our proform or "operative" program to receive discounts off Rome products.

Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute is high altitude demonstration forest garden and landscape design training facility in Basalt, Colorado. As an intern I got the opportunity to help design a greenhouse and surrounding herb garden, along with a one-acre Community Supported Agriculture Farm School for the Roaring Fork Valley High School, which my team and I presented to the faculty and staff. I also helped the school in its fundraising efforts through small event planning in the nearby communities. Furthermore, I updated the Institute’s e-presence through their website and blog. I performed labor intensive tasks such as gardening, weeding, cooking, harvesting and light construction. This hands-on experience allowed me to build the strong work ethic of which I have today.
