Alison Marshall is a teaching and performing artist, choreographer, university professor, and arts consultant who designs and presents dance and theatre-based learning programs for schools, organizations, and communities. Her performance and choreography work has been presented at a variety of venues (New Works Series San Francisco, Colorado Summer Dance Festival, Boston Dance Umbrella, Jacob’s Pillow, Phoenix Theatre, Schreiber Theatre) and includes projects, workshops, and performances in the United States, Mexico, South America, and Europe. Alison holds a doctorate in Integrated Arts Education with a specialization in dance. She is on the national dance faculty at Lesley University, College of Creative Arts, and has served as faculty for the colleges of architecture, dance, and education at Arizona State University, the University of Washington, Prescott College and for ten years at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. For eight years Alison was the Arts Learning Director for the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the state arts agency. She continues to design and implement dance residencies for grades K-12 as well as professional development programs for educators, health programs, and community arts organizations. In addition to her University teaching and theater performance work she teachers Parkinson’s Dance classes in Arizona (Muhammad Ali Parkinson’s Center, Banner Hospital Wellness Center) through the Mark Morris Dance Group Dance for PD program.
