I am part of a middleware team executing a sys admin role in both on premises and AWS environments. I am responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of web servers and application servers in addition to a range of other vendor products in midrange environments. I have experience troubleshooting and resolving system outages as well as infrastructure automation and deployment through CI/CD pipelines to AWS environments. Within the role I use shell scripting, python, and java to execute full stack automation including container based environments.

I work in the CI Architecture team supporting new development of a cross-domain messaging application. The application consists of six core components that client applications use to manage message recipients, central logging of message details and message status, and retry as well a retention functionality. The application stack is UDB/DB2 10.5, WebSphere 8.5.5 with IHS web servers on PureApp, and WebSphere MQ 7.5. The applications are built using MyBatis, Spring, Camel, JSF, and Primefaces. We utiliize continuous integration/continuous delivery for build and deploy using maven, svn, bamboo, and nexus. My role includes build out of all environments including monitoring, as well as new java development work on all components.

I had the opportunity to spend time on several different teams over the past 2 1/2 years gaining experience and a broad view of the company and technologies used. I spent time in middleware as a system administrator on AIX/Linux, WebSphere/Tomcat, and IHS/Apache. I also rotated to Architecture where I supported applications upgrading to Documentum 6.7 and teams moving to a new continuous integration platform using Maven, Subversion, Bamboo, Sonar, and Nexus. Finally I moved on to two application teams as a software developer. The first as a web developer working to redesign front end screens in an existing application using css, javascript (jquery), HTML5, and JSPs. The second as production support for a newly released web application built with Primefaces, JSF, Spring, and myBatis where I touch all parts of the application.

Rotational program where I spent time as a business systems analyst, completed a project to deliver a new release of a web application for online quoting and policy generation, and a rotation in the infrastructure/middleware services group working on server builds and environment configuration and restoration. I also was given the opportunity to present to senior management at the conclusion of each rotation.
