Key area of focus is the strategic development and delivery of Community Development including volunteering, befriending and mentoring, donations and digital inclusion, alongside supporting business development, project management and new opportunity. I lead on innovating, visioning and developing opportunities to end local homelessness through community interventions and community solutions to homelessness, leading an ambitious team to be creative, collaborative and deliver to help and support our front-line colleagues and clients. The wider Development & Quality Team enables our services to grow, develop and improve. We also support the creation of new services to meet local need and Turning Tide’s mission. As a team, we work in collaboration with services, staff, clients, and volunteers. We focus on identifying opportunities in the community, advancing new business and property led opportunities. We also support the mobilisation and continuous improvement of services and systems, as Deputy Head of the Department I have good understanding of all these areas, so that I am able to support the wider team.

As the Volunteer Manager I develop and deliver the Volunteer Strategy. During my time I have already developed the Charity's volunteer force, changing the way Turning Tides's see traditional volunteering – a truly rewarding experience. I am responsible for recruiting, supervising and liaising with all WCHP’s volunteers and provide effective administrative support to the WCHP volunteer workforce. During my time the number of volunteers has increased dramatically as have the diversity of roles we are now offering to volunteers. I have built links with WorkAid to enable the Charity to offer supported volunteering.We are now in the early stages of piloting a Mentoring and Befriending Project, following training I have developed this strategy myself and will be Co-leading on the recruitment and delivery of this service.

My role includes supporting our amazing team of over 250 volunteers. I recruit, induct and train new volunteers to our team. It is my job to make sure that our projects have the volunteer support that they need, organising rotas weekly and monthly.I also regularly attend networking and forums to reach out to new supporters and talk about the work that WCHP do.Later on this year we will be launching a Mentoring And Befriending Project, part of this Project will see my role expand to provide regular supervision to our Volunteer Mentors and Befrienders.

I joined at the age of 18 as a Salon Assistant. Following 2 years training I progressed to a Stylist. During my time as a Stylist I assisted with Fashion Week and Entered L'Oreal Colour Trophy, cutting the hair for the Young Colourist Award. In 2013 I was promoted to Salon Manager and spent my final 2 years with the company managing the Brighton Salon, before departing to go travelling for 7 Months.It was a very enjoyable chapter in my career.
