About Alison Parish
Having taught in schools for many years, I could not refuse the offer to follow one of my interests for a PhD, so I gave up my full-time post and became an adult tutor, (working with adults with moderate learning difficulties as well teaching Key Skills) and a supply teacher to give me the flexibility I needed. During this time I also presented workshops on using dynamic software to support mathematics teaching and reported on my research (use of digital technologies in English secondary mathematics classrooms) at conferences.My PhD in Mathematics Education was finally awarded in January 2020 at Warwick University.

I also worked as an adult education tutor, including with people who had learning differences.
