I am an experienced and registered Psychotherapist, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, author, specialist consultant and trainer. I believe that understanding the child within can provide additional insights to my work with adults and organisations. My experience has taught her to understand how important our communications are and how they can enhance or inhibit our relationships in every aspect of our lives. I have worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor for over 25 years both in the NHS and in independent practice or in community settings I am invested in helping others to build more healthy relationships through meaningful conversations and enabling people to be more resilient, creative and resourceful.In my work with individuals, couples, families and groups I focus on the deep significance of early attachments and the impact of trauma and loss on the personality. As the co-founder and previously the Clinical Lead for the CAMHS and East Sussex specialist adoption service – AdCAMHS, I have earned much from those who have experienced significant losses, shocks and challenges in their lives and just how complicated life can be. I have written a book about adoption, a chapter about education through the arts and contributes regularly to press and main-stream media.Previously I was the director of communications for the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) and the Bulletin magazine Editor. Before training as a psychotherapist, Iedited and produced a youth magazine and went on to found a community arts project called Generation Arts Project (GAP) harnessing the creative potential of challenging and vulnerable young people not in education or employment. My further training includes EMDR part 1,2 & 3 and Reflective Practice in Organisations with the Institute of Group Analysis. In addition to my clinical work I provide bespoke training programmes, workshops and reflective practice groups for community and corporate organisations. I have extensive experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds and I like to work on creative and challenging environments.
