In my role at Essar, I support the Chief of Operations, Chief Financial Officer, and the Chief of Projects, coordinate all travel for the Minnesota sites and manage a pool of temporary administrative support. I also supported the human resources department scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, aiding with new hire orientation, maintaining our job description database, and any other duties assigned. I also performed many of the same Executive Assistant duties at the same time.

This roll was an Administrative Assistant for the Head of Contracts under Essar's project management group for Essar Steel Minnesota. We negotiate all the contracts for equipment, construction, and service for the new mine, along with the logistics contracts to bring materials to the US. Essar Steel is currently building a new, state of the art 6 MTPA integrated pellet plant on the Mesabi Iron Range, along with a concentration plant and direct reduced iron plant.

My responsibilities included reviewing a client's confidential medical records to make notes on the pertinent issues and symptoms of their disability claim, assisting nine Representatives in their hearing preparation, and writing pre-hearing briefs for Administrative Law Judges to review. I also met with prospective clients, evaluated their disability claim, and completed the necessary paperwork to start their claim. From there I would follow the claim, request medical records, doctor's opinions, and advise the client on how best to win their claim. If necessary, I would attend a hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge to argue the client's disability using my knowledge of Social Security Disability Law and communication skills, with the intended outcome of a favorable decision and awarded benefits.
