I work with graphic designers as well as doing much of my own artwork for covers and promotional materials using the Adobe creative suite and Canca. Audiobooks of my titles are produced through ACX. I work with local bookstores to promote and sell books. I coach the Macalester College women's hockey team. Macalester hockey is a club program that plays in games and tournaments against a variety of women's teams from around the midwest, including other college club programs and teams from the Women's Hockey Association of Minnesota (WHAM). I plan the strategic direction and manage the day-to-day operations of the Digital Resource Center, specialized technological resources in the DeWitt Wallace Library, and and other audio/visual technologies across campus.The specialized technology resources I work with include, but are not limited to: 3D modeling, scanning, and printing with Makerbot, Ultimaker, and FormLabs printers, NextEngine scanner, and SketchUp, Rhino, Meshlab. Print design and production using The Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, drawing tablets, various scanning equipment, and printers including standard laserjet, photo inkjet, and large-format printers. Audio and video production and editing including both consumer and professional grade cameras, microphones, and other recording devices, Adobe Premiere, iMovie, Garageband, and other audio/video software. Classroom and and other campus space A/V systems including wired and wireless projection, sound systems, and presenter tools.To best support these campus resources, I hire, manage, and train a pool of up to 30 student staff for work in the Digital Resource Center, Library special technology space, and media services event support. I design and implement processes for clear and efficient management, inventory, and lending of technology and media equipment. And I manage projects, collaborate, and work to create and maintain support models for all resources and projects under my purview.

Academic Information Associate - Languages And Fine Arts

I am a member of Information Technology Services (ITS). I support the faculty in the Janet Wallace Fine Arts complex (humanities, art, music, and theater/dance) and help them use technology to aid their teaching. For example, I may help faculty set up course materials in Moodle, Macalester's learning management system, or I may work with them to find the right software for a particular assignment or learning goal. My goal as an AIA is to enhance the learning experience for Macalester students through the use of technical resources while still applying sound learning pedagogy.I am also the director of the Digital Resource Center (DRC). The DRC is a computer lab and work space that caters specifically to the languages and fine arts. In the DRC we have special software for languages, as well as music composition, video editing, and visual arts. As the DRC director I also supervise the 15-20 student workers who work at the front desk. I train these students to answer user questions and troubleshoot problems in the lab and nearby classrooms.
