I am a therapist and trainer at Better Play Ltd. My background was in teaching before training as a BAPT play therapist. Better Play Ltd is a local specialist company working in schools, supporting and training staff working with challenging and vulnerable children. Changing the way school staff respond to children changes relationships in schools and plays an important role in changing attachment behaviours in children-the underlying motivation and pattern for strengths and difficulties. Our training and support services have been recognised as far-sighted and innovative by Ofsted and have been a subject of PLR studies with the CWDC. We feel that our work in schools has shown us that specialist training and support for school staff is an effective, realistic and attainable way to reach troubled children and build new resilience.
