Alison is a recent graduate from SUNY Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She has experience in mechanical engineering through her previous roles as a project manager intern at PJ Mechanical and a mechanical engineer in training at AKF Group, both in New York City. Her professional experience gave her technical skills in Revit and heat load calculations, as well as reviewing NYC construction codes and standards. Throughout college and in her professional career, Alison has been involved in multiple extracurricular opportunities. At AKF Group, she was a part of the ACE Mentorship program, which pairs various engineer and construction-related companies with a team of high schoolers in the NYC area for outreach into their respective fields. In her time at Binghamton University, she served on the executive boards of both her sorority, Phi Mu Fraternity, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, as well as was a peer mentor through the Society of Women Engineers. Her experience in these organizations rounds out her technical resume with time management, organization, and communication skills, as well as displays her passion for involvement wherever she goes. Much of Alison’s coursework at Binghamton was focused on engineering projects, which has allowed her to apply her skills in AutoCAD, MATLAB, Solid Edge, ANSYS, and Creo to real-world situations. In doing these projects, she gained insight into process improvement concepts and how to navigate and solve problems.
