Behavior Specialist
CurrentWorking with and directly teaching children, parents, and teachers to assist in varying behavioral issues both at home and in the classroom. Issues may include aggression, defiance, sensory integration, poor social skills, shyness, toilet training, bedtime problems, etc. Observe children in a classroom setting to make behavioral observations and to provide teachers with suggestions to implement change. Teach parent groups topics on child development, behavior, and overall parent training. . Meet with parents individually, if needed, to provide suggestions that can be used both at home and school to help implement the same strategies. If the child is currently receiving any therapies (Occupational, Speech, and Physical), routine updates are obtained to provide continuity of care and assure duplication of correct techniques in the classroom.
