Due to chronic illness, I had to give up my freelance training work and recruitment projects and was out of mainstream employment for over 10 years. However in October 2021 I was helped by Astriid to find a role that could be done at home for just a few hours a week. The perfect role landed and I work as Admin Support for Call of the Page who run poetry events and courses in Haiku and related forms. Then in May 2023 I was given the opportunity to combine my experience of chronic illness with my previous long experience of training design and delivery, and recruitment, to work as an associate with Astriid Consulting designing and delivering their online 'Inclusive Recruitment' for people with long-term conditions workshop for organisations. I also have my own small business Tarot to Heal the World that draws on my professional experience in a creative and unusual way. I help people reconnect with who they really are, and their connection with the world, using intuitive insights, tarot cards and coaching. I especially love to work with people who see their own development and the creation of a better world as entwined. And through Call of the Page I have discovered a love of tanka and am currently submitting both my own tanka and tanka prose to journals, with my very first tanka prose accepted by a respected online journal.Health is still a big issue and limiter but with the help of Astriid I have found myself in two roles, and tanka!, which both match my needs and draw on my experience and interests. I couldn't be more lucky!
