I am a skilled and caring RMT who strives to help people move with both freedom and stability. My treatments are often deep and specific, but can be less intense where appropriate. Much of my post-graduate training has been in the area of myofascial, visceral and craniosacral massage. This type of treatment helps to alleviate strains and snags within the web of connective tissue in the body, involving the facial covering of muscles, viscera, and nerves. Furthermore, I provide a component of movement re-education to help change conscious or unconscious habits that perpetuate painful movement. I have experience working with many conditions and injuries in my clinics as well as in other treatment environments. In 2013 I traveled and worked with the athletes competing in the BC Bike Race, and have also volunteered at Ironman Canada, various marathons and the Squamish Test of Metal. I am currently looking for work/travel experiences to learn and/or teach massage therapy in other parts of the world.My professional goals involve completing the visceral manipulation curriculum at the Barral Institute and expanding my knowledge of both massage and osteopathic approaches to healing. I am also fortunate to be an educator in the massage therapy profession. I teach myology in the RMT program at Langara College and I occasionally assist Mark Finch with his myofascial release courses. Previously, I taught at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy as a clinic instructor, I've assisted craniosacral courses with the Upledger Institute and I've taught my own stretch therapy classes. I am continually inspired by the growing body of research-based knowledge and wisdom in my profession and enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching. I am grateful to live in a place where the beauty of our natural surroundings remind me of the amazing connection we have to each other and to the earth.
