ADOS clinics and MDT assessment for Autism Spectrum Conditions

Working with young people in Specialist Children's homes and children and families on the edge of care.

I led a busy team of Children's Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants with my job share Dr Sean Pert. This award-winning team provided triage, assessment, treatment and discharge to children and young people in the borough. I was responsible for the departmental budget as well as day-to-day people management.Alongside my leadership role I developed direct commissioning packages for mainstream schools. This extensive portfolio of more than thirty schools provided the organisation with significant additional income.I combined my leadership role with a clinical role as a highly specialist speech and language therapist. I provided paediatric dysphagia assessment and advice to babies, children and their families within the community and acute settings. I worked in a variety of clinical settings including Child Development Unit, Special Schools, Mainstream Schools, Nurseries and Children's Centres.I provided training to the wider children's workforce in my role on the training team for safeguarding children.

I worked with pre-school and complex needs children and their families. In addition I provided specialist multi-disciplinary assessment as part of the Child Development Unit team. My skills included dysphagia and video fluoroscopy.

I worked as a generalist speech and language therapist in community health centres and clinics.
