Covered local governments and courts in Philadelphia's New Jersey suburbs.This was a fabulous general assignment job where I wrote about everything from school desegregation fights, to efforts to keep Wal-Mart away. I covered the county courts and wrote about the passage of the first Meghan's Law -- the precedent for laws across the country requiring convicted sex offenders to register with local authorities and for authorities to inform the community.
