About Alison Goldsmith

I have an affinity for learning new technologies, and I love the satisfaction that comes from applying my analytical thinking and creativity to uncover an obscure defect.---I stumbled into the field of Quality Assurance purely by coincidence.I had landed a summer internship for a writing position, when after a couple months, the company's QA team reached out to me expressing their need for more testers. In spite of my lack of experience, they thought I might be a good fit due to my keen eye for detail. It turned out that that they were right—I immediately fell in love with QA.In my current role at FD Technologies, I have recently taken over as QA Lead in the middle of a multi-year financial dashboard project. My challenge has been to not only maintain the historical level of QA success for the project, but to strive for improvements and greater successes as well. I increased intra-team communication, created on-boarding documentation, and developed more detailed test plans that covered a wider variety of scenarios. At the end of my first quarter on the project, I was personally acknowledged by the client for my hard work which, when compared with statistics for previous quarters, resulted in a significantly reduced number of defects that made it to the UAT cycle.
