When I was 20, I survived a house fire. Fast asleep in my childhood home, I woke up to a burning Christmas tree, just in time to get out of the house. Later, the firefighters informed me that the whole house was engulfed within 60 seconds. I have come to realize that this experience did not only shape who I am now, but it also perfectly showcases who I always was. Anyone can say that they are a hard-working, quick-thinking, and solution-oriented worker. However, how many of them can prove it? My list of resume building experiences is limited, but my real world experiences are vast. I have travelled to Africa twice for photographic safaris; where I gained practical experience in patience, focus, and determination. I maintain various social media platforms, such as a portfolio website, Instagram account, Tumblr Account, and Pinterest account. These accounts have taught me the importance of dedication, innovation, and resilience. Needless to say, it is difficult to make it as an independent photographer, but growing up in Hawaii taught me to live in the moment. It afforded me an open-mind, compassionate demeanor, and relaxed attitude by exposing me to a diverse culture. All in all, I believe that my life experiences have made me an incredible professional candidate. They have taught me lessons that many others my age will not learn for decades.
