I led the communications and external engagement activities for a number of the philanthropically funded research centres within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at The University of Edinburgh. These centres were the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research and the MS Society Edinburgh Centre for MS Research.The role encompassed communications strategy development, website development, social media management, general communications and event management.

I was responsible for the management of all of the charity's organisational and project communications including campaigns, printed material, website, social media and PR. My role also includes:- ownership and development of the charity's communications strategy- liaising with external partners and stakeholders including The Scottish Government, NHS, other charities within the HIV & Hepatitis C sector and with marketing agencies.- management of communications budgets- line management of the Communications Officer.Most notable in the role I led the development of Waverley Care's national communications campaign HIV Always Hear (www.HIVAlwaysHear.org). Funded by The Scottish Government, the campaign aims to challenge HIV stigma amongst the general public in Scotland.
