Responsible for driving quality improvement and healthcare governance initiatives and supporting the Clinical Team with regard to Clinical Audit (internal, external e.g. PLACE and extraneous to support Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) compliance). Complaints management, risk management, clinical outcome data, Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQINN) and Quality Improvement projects ensuring the quality of data produced by the clinical teams is accurate and timely. Undertaking , as required, DATIX investigations and leading on Serious Incidents Requiring Investigation (SIRI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to ensure timely and comprehensive reports are delivered. Responsible for GP liaison involving a targeted approach to ensure maximum growth of market value. Marketing role with community and patient groups. Chair and active participation in various meetings ensuring quality remains forefront in the clinical environment. Integral contribution to Monthly and Quarterly reporting, such as the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) dashboard, submitted to CCG ensuring compliance with contractual arrangements. This involves working closely with the CCG on exception reporting to meet standards and KPIs. Production of the Equality and Diversity (E&D) process, working on EDS2 commitment to conform to current changes in legislation. Management of over 30 military and civilian multi-disciplinary team, dealing with complaints, change management, procurement, resource allocation, recruitment, personnel management issues as well as appraisal within timescale. Monitor and oversight of Clinical Governance activities using the Common Assurance Framework, motivating team and delegating tasks as required, working towards best practice and quality outputs. Key member of pilot scheme for the Automated Significant Event Reporting System (ASER) which involved 1:1 and team engagement and training within 21 Medical Facilities in the South Region. ASER was rolled out to Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Medical Facilities nationally. Driving and supporting patient safety that is open, transparent and robust.Member of the Assurance Team who undertake Health Governance visits to Tri-Service Medical Facilities nationally, this occurs on a piecemeal basis, when work commitments allow.

Supervising, developing and training responsibilities for up to 130 phase 2 trainees as their PDO, dealing with educational, welfare and discipline issues on a day today basis. This involved demonstrating a sensitive, non-judgemental approach, ensuring confidentiality was maintained as appropriate and liaising and advocating with external organisations, and representing individuals in disciplinary and formal proceedings.EWO responsibilities with operational management of a training unit within HMS Collingwood of up to 450 phase 2 trainees. Responsible for policy and management of training. Accommodation and repair management for a 600 bed unit with a responsibility for on-site control of contractors and supervising quality of the work provided.• Management of the weekly carer’s meeting where divisional staff discuss trainees of concern from either a welfare or disciplinary perspective.  Liaison and collaborative work with the various training areas in HMS Collingwood and various external agencies from Chaplaincy, Social Work, Coaching teams, Medical Centres and DCMHs, to ensure that Duty of Care was achieved at all times.• Supervision and training responsibilities and delivering training and presentations to junior staff, trainees and command in wider RN community. • Organisational and coordinating role for extraneous activities requiring attendance by HMS Collingwood trainees and military personnel, these activities included formal military events such as remembrance parades, royal wedding, charity events, and regional and national military open days.• Coordinating and organisational roles of various leadership activities on the base of HMS Collingwood, working with other agencies and training schools to successfully achieve the task.• Coaching junior staff and phase 2 trainees in dealing with individual issues that require change to achieve a better outcome.
