Alison Joy is an award-winning Brooklyn-based producer and writer of nonfiction stories. She began her career developing documentaries at Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney's Jigsaw Productions for Netflix, HBO, Showtime, CNN, ESPN, Nat Geo, AMC, Vice, and Discovery — most notably, collaborating with chef and writer Samin Nosrat to adapt her bestselling book "Salt Fat Acid Heat" into a hit Netflix series. Alison then spent six years at The Documentary Group, first as Director of Development overseeing a slate of projects for Netflix, HBO, CNN, Freeform, Hulu, Discovery+, MTV Entertainment, Quibi, and VICE.
