Profile bio

About Alison Peacock

I'm curious about the world and everyone in it. I'm a content explorer, whether I'm crossing oceans with my camera, following my nose around the block, or plumbing the depths of a story on a keyboard. With almost 30 years of combined experience as a writer, editor and photographer, I am well-versed in researching, interpreting, and translating information so everyone can connect to the story. My curiosity makes any subject fascinating to me, but I specialize in travel, food, psychology, film, and all of the visual and performing arts. When I'm interviewing subjects, I know what to ask and how to listen for the answer, thanks to my psychology background. When I'm writing a feature, I use visual and sensory cues to distill the essence of a scene, a person, or an event. My readers tell me they are right there with me.When I'm editing copy (my own or other people's), I zero in on logic gaps, clunky transitions, and word clutter. The streamlined copy sounds just like the original writer's voice, just clearer. Likewise, for my editors, I turn in clean, clear articles. When I'm documenting the world with a camera instead of words, I hone in on the emotional moments in a crowded room. On my travels, I hunt down angles that highlight well-known landmarks differently. And for my fine-art abstracts, I find the lines and shadows that turn everyday images into art. I translate the content of the world into literary and visual art. In my off-time, my favorite project is to turn intriguing ingredients into dinner. These are my true superpowers. Contact me at ellaraha@drizzle.com
