I began my position at the KBC as a summer intern in their communications department. My first summer included work with journalism and social media and saw the launch of their news website, Kentucky Today. I have continued work with the KBC as the weekend editor for Kentucky Today, a role which requires me to handle news updates and social media promotion.

As part of my clinical year of my MSW degree, I had the opportunity to work with the Healthy Families Central Virginia team at HumanKind. I took on the role of an assessment worker by reaching out to potential clients, conducting comprehensive interviews, and offering referrals. My bilingual abilities allowed me to deliver services to Spanish-speaking.

VCU School of Social Work's Office of Student Success has revamped the role of Peer Mentor to provide current and prospective students with additional support. My position allows me to engage with prospective Master's students on a variety of platforms to answer their questions and provide a current student's input. My primary goals are to serve those.

As a part of my MSW degree with VCU, I had the opportunity to complete an internship with the Foster Care and Adoption Unit at the Bedford County Department of Social Services. My time with Bedford County allowed me to practice family engagement and case management among many other skills. I completed many valuable trainings which not only provided a solid.

Llano Verde, Guatemala

After spending 8 weeks in Guatemala the previous summer as a student intern, I was asked to return to lead a trip of students the following year. My partner and I collaborated in the year preceding our second trip to organize logistics and prepare team meetings. We also spent 8 weeks on the field in Guatemala completing various administrative tasks in.

As part of the residence hall leadership structure at Liberty University, Resident Shepherds are primarily responsible for fostering spiritual and mental well-being among their students. Tasks include leading small-group Bible studies for a residence hall leadership team, one-on-one peer mentoring and discipleship, and organizing numerous events to promote.

I participated in an 8-week full immersion program through Liberty University and Hope of Life International. During my stay in Guatemala, I lived with a non-English-speaking family and volunteered at the various ministries throughout the organization. This opportunity provided invaluable experience in the Spanish language, engaging in cultural competency.
