• Serve as subject matter expert and leader on prudential regulatory issues, focusing on funding and liquidity and climate related-financial risk, systemic risk issues; • Provide analysis of complex legal, regulatory and legislative initiatives to ABA membership and executive staff;• Develop and communicate industry positions to policymakers, media and other stakeholders; • Monitor domestic and international regulatory policy issues and developments related to banking and capital markets, including short-term funding money markets;• Plan, coordinate, and organize meetings and presentations involving senior bank management and senior officials at the US financial regulatory agencies;• Lead ABA member groups on climate related financial risk, asset liability management, correspondent banking and community bank funding and liquidity;• Represent ABA on the International Banking Federation’s Prudential Supervision Working Group• Conduct research to develop industry position papers and comment letters as needed;

• Performed in-depth research and analysis related to banking supervisory and regulatory activities involving complex and critical issues;• Assisted with international efforts to design and develop liquidity standards under Basel III; represented the FDIC on several key workstreams of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision’s (BCBS) Working Group on Liquidity (WGL);• Provided financial and policy analysis to support FDIC representatives on the BCBS and its subgroups; • Developed and prepared policy option papers and briefing papers need to make key policy determinations, including the regulatory or policy considerations and the concerns and perspectives of stakeholders.• Worked with other banking agencies to implement Basel III liquidity standards in the US and developed guidance on interest rate risk and liquidity management; • Monitored and analyzed financial markets and financial institution data to identify emerging risks;

Worked with groups across the FDIC to help create and implement that FDIC's Temporary Liquidity Guarantee program; Performed peer group analysis to identify strengths and potential weaknesses of new banks' proposed business model; Evaluated applications for deposit insurance; Identified and analyze current and emerging banking policy issues.

Researched and evaluated financial performance of commercial banks and thrifts; Identified emerging financial, and economic risks that could adversely affect financial institutions and the FDIC insurance funds; Authored articles for external publication in the FDIC's Outlook addressing the shift away from defined benefit plans, and how changing sources of bank funding requires banks to update the way they measure and mitigate liquidity risk;

Trust and InvestmentPerformed economic and policy analysis to support ABA's advocacy efforts; issues included: Health Savings Accounts, implementation of Title II of the Gram-Leach-Bliley Act, pension reform, corporate governance and the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC registration on community banks, among others;Helped establish and facilitate banker Council for the discussion and development policy recommendations on issues relating to retirement and employee benefits; Provided leadership in expanding ABA's knowledge of health savings accounts; assisted in bringing together group of large banks and insurance companies interested in seeking greater efficiencies in the HSA marketplace through legislative and regulatory advocacy;Monitored and briefed the Director of ABA's Center for Securities and General Counsel ABA Securities Association, Trust and Investments on issues relating to members' capital markets and trust operationsServed as Associate Economics Editor and research staff member for ABA's Center for Agricultural and Rural Banking;Compiled and evaluated bank financial data for ABA's community bank peer groups, ABA's Economic Advisory Committee, subchapter S, de novo and agricultural banks;Assisted in the writing and preparation of congressional testimony, backgrounders and other advocacy pieces for distribution on Capitol Hill;
