About Alison Webster
I am fast-paced and curious by nature, fascinated by the ways we connect with the world around us. As part of entrepreneurship@UBC, I drive communications and marketing by developing, designing and implementing a range of strategies across digital and print for their venture building programs, raising the profile of the program and ventures who are part of UBC's innovation ecosystem.At the end of May, 2019, I completed my Masters of Management at UBC Sauder's Robert H. Lee Graduate School. I was the President of the Master of Management Student Executive Society, working with a team of 6 VPs to foster community and inclusion amongst my cohort. My previous position in sales at BroadbandTV harnessed my knowledge of the digital entertainment industry and furthered my passion about self expression in the digital age. I was responsible for building relationships with innovative and unique content creators, selling them on the value of the network, negotiating the terms of their agreement and closing.In 2016, I graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Women’s Studies. My final year culminated in an 60 page honours thesis that focused on the consumption of meat as a masculine phenomenon and its relation to the representation of women as meat in advertising. This project was presented at the Spring 2016 Feminist Research Colloquium in Montreal.
