About Alissa Carpenter, M.Ed

Hi, I'm Alissa! I'm passionate about 90s and 00s hip hop music and creating inclusive workplaces. I started my career in higher education where I worked with students through the admissions process, course selection, major identification and leadership development. I strived to get to the root cause of their pain points through proactive questions and active listening. I always looked forward to those "light bulb moments" when something clicked and they felt like weight was lifted. Seeing them before their freshman summer and then leading them in the graduation procession was such a wonderful full cycle experience.During my time in higher education, I realized that I wanted to do something more. I had created peer advising programs, for credit courses for students, and e-learning orientation programs. I worked on staff human resources initiatives like onboarding and mentorship programs, implementation and sourcing of learning management systems, and engagement assessments and action plans. Through these experiences, I noticed that students and staff were not always bringing their full selves to work and school, there were a lot of duplication of efforts and employee engagement and recruitment were not where they needed to be.That's when my business, Everything's Not OK and That's OK was born. I have worked with higher education institutions, non-profits, Fortune 500 companies and organizations in between. Partnering with human resources, I create, facilitate, and consult on strategies to more effectively recruit, retain, and engage employees.

Listed skills include Leadership Development, Public Speaking, Event Planning, Leadership, and 1 others.
