Alissa Kole is an internationally recognised expert in governance, economics and public policy in emerging markets. She is the Founder and Managing Director of a think-tank and advisory firm GOVERN Center. Under her leadership, GOVERN has flourished to be a recognised thought leader and advisor to governments, investors and corporate clients. The firm provides fully tailored advisory, research and training support. Prior to founding GOVERN, Alissa launched and managed a regional Middle East and North Africa governance initiative at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. During her decade-long career at the OECD, she has advised Ministers, heads of stock exchanges, capital market regulators and central banks. In recent years, she has been also supporting boards and executives on governance and strategy priorities.Alissa is a prolific author, with books and articles appearing in the Financial Times, the Harvard Business Review, the Forbes Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the Project Syndicate, the Washington Post, Aspen Institute, Bloomberg and other sources. She is a sought-after commentator and speaker, having intervened in various international policy forums (Davos, UN, OECD, Aspen) as well as a speaker at TED conference in London. She is the recipient of several awards, including Corporate Governance Rising Star by the Columbia University. Alissa has had a number of academic affiliations and has recently served as a Fellow at the London School of Economics.
