Quickly progressed from Communications Manager to Vice President in a certified B Corp, working closely with founder/owner to develop a brand now recognized as a top player in the American rum industry. Spearheaded brand refresh to cultivate a reputation as an industry leader in premium rum, social responsibility and environmental sustainability. Leads team of three to create annual brand strategy/communications plan to support national and European distribution, provide tools for US and EU sales teams, and increase consumer engagement. Leads internal team and external partners to implement online and print marketing. Also advises founder/owner in company strategy to help growing internal teams navigate change. Developed internal communications plans to better connect growing management team, to respond to the pandemic, and currently to navigate the restructuring of tasting room from a bar and restaurant into a high end cocktail bar. Founded independent coaching business to mentor writers through process of idea generation, completing a piece or book, and publication. Developed and implemented business and marketing plans to sell and teach online courses, in-person retreats and one-to-one mentoring. Also wrote freelance articles for regional and national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Dirt Rag Magazine and The Master's Review, and taught communications classes at Western Colorado University and Western Connecticut State University.

Collaborated with publisher and managing editor to produce weekly newspaper and three annual magazines. Worked as team to hire and mentor staff writers, determine editorial direction and assign stories. Assumed responsibilities of Managing Director as needed. Researched and wrote innumerable stories on county management and land use, local government, and ski area.
